Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Md Asaduzzaman Mia on Sunday said militant Musa, who managed to flee the militant’s den at Ashkona, will be arrested soon.
“Militant leader Musa will be arrested very soon,” he told reporters after visiting security measures at Kakrail cathedral church in the city on the occasion of Christmas day.
Two suspected militants, including a woman, were killed and a minor girl was injured during a police raid named ‘Operation Ripple 24’ on a militant den at Ashkona of Dakhkhin Khan in the capital on Saturday.
Militant leader Musa who rented the flat managed to flee the scene before members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) Unit of DMP stormed into it on early Saturday.
The DMP Commissioner said militancy is a global problem and all were stunned at the militants’ attack on Gulshan Holy Artisan Café attack.
“We have been able to control the militants’ activities through carrying out some successful anti-militants’ drive later,” the DMP Commissioner said.
“We have also kept financers, patronizers and supporters of militants’ under close surveillance,” he added.
Earlier, the DMP commissioner exchanged greetings with the father of the church, officials and Christian community on the occasion of merry Christmas day. Senior DMP officials were present.
