An 18-day long national drama festival titled ‘Jatiyal Natya Utsab 2016’ will begin on September 24 in the capital with the slogan “this soil not for militancy, but for humanity”.
Bangladesh Group Theatre Federation and Bangladesh Shilapakala Academy will jointly organise the festival in collaboration with the Cultural Affairs Ministry.
Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor is expected to inaugural the festival as chief guest.
Confirming the matter, Group Theatre Federation Secretary Aktaruzzaman on Monday said a total of 58 troupes, including 26 ones from the capital, will stage one drama each at different auditoriums of the city during the festival.
The dramas will be staged in the main auditorium of Jatiya Natyashala, Experimental Theatre Hall, Studio Theatre Hall of BSA and Nilima Ibrahim Auditorium at Bailey Road at 7 pm every day.
